Hill’s Kitchen

What’s Happening?

IHCC Culinary Arts is presently working on an articulation agreement with Iowa State University’s Food Science and Nutrition Program.  The four-year program at ISU is a cross-disciplinary degree combining a strong food science foundation with culinary skills development.  We’re another step closer to the agreement after last week’s meeting, and the cooperation and flexibility of the program’s faculty have been tremendous.
We’re also planning to collaborate with ISU on a trip to Spain in the spring of 2011!  La Fundación de la Lengua Española graciously hosted our last event in November, 2009, and we’re looking for more participants.  Details will be available soon, including pricing.

Calling all Chefs…to help IHCC re-evaluate its Culinary Arts Program.  The next meeting will be held Monday, June 7, at 3:00 pm at Indian Hills Community College.  Says Chef Gordon Rader, “We’re spending the next year revamping our curriculum, and there’s no better guide for the process than our advisory board members.”  Please contact grader@indianhills.edu to reserve your seat at the meeting.
