Obama’s Visit, Counselor’s Day and ISU Articulation

What a great week for IHCC!  Our culinary students cooked for members of President Obama’s security and set-up team on Monday afternoon while school faculty and staff prepared for the President’s arrival on Tuesday.  More than 2200 folks turned out for the event and I can’t say enough about the positive impact the visit made on our community and college!  Thanks to all of you who helped to make this event successful!

Yesterday was yet another historic one for our school, specifically for our program.  We’ve been talking with ISU’s Food Service and Nutrition Program faculty for more than a year regarding possible articulation between the two schools.  Yesterday marked another move forward towards an agreement!  For those students interested in a 4 year degree with emphasis on the science side of cooking as well as R&D, this agreement will definitely benefit you.  ISU’s program is phenomenal and this agreement is a plus for all involved!

Conselor’s Day is a yearly event with more than 100 local counselors on board for lunch and an opportunity to display our culinary talent!  Excellent food and service for both events and I appreciate all of your hard work this week!  My students are truly “stakeholders” in our future development and play an important role in our continued success!

Enjoy a few of the images taken during this week’s events!
